Allandale is a skinny but long neighborhood in North-Central Austin known for its large mid-century modern style homes and abundance of restaurants and coffee shops. It runs from the westside of Burnet Road to Mopac Expressway to the western side of Burnet Road, and from north of 45th Street north up to the southside of West Anderson Lane with Shoal Creek running smack dab through the center. The dining and drinking places in in this neighborhood run the gamut from the iconic and nationally lauded upscale Mexican restaurant Fonda San Miguel, longtime honky-tonk Little Longhorn Saloon to Asian Southern restaurant Peached Tortilla and drive-thru cafe — with pretty much everything in between, like sushi, ice cream, tacos, and more.
