How to Find the New Wine Cellar Speakeasy in Austin

Cork & Barrel has sprung a new speakeasy, and it’s not making it easy to find. The new hot spot, the Dead Poet, is cozily tucked away in the pub’s former wine cellar, and there’s a hidden link on its website to make a reservation. Field Guide Festival returns

This well-attended Austin food festival is making its big return this April. From Friday, April 25 to Sunday, April 27, 65 Austin-area chefs and farmers will participate, creating unlimited bites for all attendees. The lineup includes Sarah Heard and Nathan Lemley of Foreign and Domestic, Amanda Turner of Olamaie, Alexa Mejia of Emmer & Rye, Junior Borges of Juniper, Evan LeRoy of LeRoy and Lewis, Ariana Quant of Uchibā, and many more. Tickets are available now with proceeds going to the Central Texas Food Band.

Uchi is selling THAT fried milk cookie for Valentine’s

Getting your hands on this is a real IYKYK moment: Uchi and Cookie Rich are teaming up to release a four-pack cookie box that includes fried milk cookies inspired by Uchi’s signature fried milk dessert, and two coffee cake and espresso cookies from Cookie Rich chef Lorin Peters. According to a press release, the fried milk cookie is a “dark chocolate cookie with mini chocolate chips, a cornflake buttercream, and a dollop of salted caramel,” while the coffee cake and espresso cookie is “a white sugar cookie with mini cinnamon chips filled with espresso buttercream.”

The catch: the cookie packs only come alongside an order of Uchi’s sushi boxes when pre-ordered for pickup on February 14, 15, and 16 (They’ll also be available to order at Uchiba and Uchikom and can be placed in the takeout section of any Uchi restaurant). Quantities are limited and are only available until sellout. There is a hack, however: Cookie Rich is adding the fried milk cookie to its options on Saturday, February 1, for pickup and delivery only.
